Behind the Scenes: Building Better Dome Tents,
One Step at a Time.
A behind-the-scenes look at how we’re raising the standard of glamping domes in North America.
At Glamping Dome Store, we don’t just sell dome tents — we help build them.
Recently, we travelled to our manufacturing partner overseas to work side-by-side with the engineering and production teams. This trip wasn’t about a tour or observation — it was about directly shaping the quality, materials, and craftsmanship that go into every dome tent kit we offer to our customers across the world.

Hands-On Installation and Testing.
During this visit, we participated in the full installation of two dome tents — a 29.5-foot (9-meter) and a 19.7-foot (6-meter) model — connected by a tunnel. Being hands-on at every step allowed us to fine-tune the small details that matter most for customers during setup and long-term use.
We also installed an exciting new upgrade: a glass panoramic window on the 29.5 ft (9 m) dome tent.
This innovation addresses a key concern with traditional domes:
● Clear PVC sections, like panoramic windows or skylights, are beautiful but sensitive to the elements.
● Over time, heat, UV exposure, hail, and general weathering can cause wear and tear — especially if regular maintenance like cleaning is overlooked.
Many customers don't realize that the cover is one of the most essential and delicate parts of the dome structure. Constant care is necessary to extend its lifespan — but even with maintenance, weather exposure can be tough on PVC materials.
That’s why glass panoramic windows are a major step forward:
● More durable
● More weather-resistant
● Lower maintenance
● Better long-term value
The installation and field-testing during our visit confirmed that this new feature offers a significant upgrade for those seeking a longer-lasting, premium glamping experience.
Quality Improvements from the Ground Up.
Beyond installation, we held a few working meetings with factory engineers, technicians, and sourcing teams to discuss how to further strengthen the durability, safety, and consistency of our dome tent structures.
Among the key decisions made, we committed to sourcing higher-grade steel for our frames — ensuring even stronger resistance to weather and structural stress.
We also reviewed upcoming product innovations that will soon expand our lineup, giving customers more options for better insulation, ventilation, and year-round comfort.

We are proud to work directly with a dedicated, long-term manufacturing partner to develop and continuously improve our domes. Unlike some companies that simply order and resell generic dome tents, we actively collaborate in the design, material selection, and quality control processes to ensure the product we deliver meets the real-world demands of our customers around the world.
Our domes are engineered and customized through an ongoing partnership — not bought off a shelf. And because we believe in transparency, we're proud to share this work — not hide it.
If someone tells you they "manufacture" dome tents, ask them:
● Where is their manufacturing facility located?
● Where do they source the materials and fabrics used to craft their dome tents?
● Are they involved in the engineering and product development decisions?

A Glimpse Beyond the Factory.
Outside of meetings and factory tours, we had the opportunity to experience a little bit of China's rich culture. The country is breathtaking — filled with history, warmth, and authentic traditions.
The food was incredible, the people were welcoming, and the pride in craftsmanship was inspiring.
